Definitions


In the field of technology the term educational and instructional technology is interchangeably used as it is a field which undergoes lots of changes every now and then.

According to Robllye (2006) some definitions of educational or instructional technology refers to equipment, others refer to the process of applying equipment or tools and materials for educational purposes. Millions of similar definitions is available in search engine on both the definitions.
 
Educational Technology “is application of research, learning theory, emergent technologies and child and adult psychology to solving instructional and performance problems” - University of North Carolina Media Services(1997) 
Instructional Technology (James Finn used the term in 1963) is how to plan, design, develop, implement, evaluate and manage instructional processes effectively to ensure improved performance by learner, Understand how people learn and how to best design instructional delivery systems and materials.

The essential features of instructional technology can be considered as:
·         a systematic process,
·         based on scientific theory
·         practical and valuable application to educational research and learning theories
·         use suitable technology
·         construct effective learning experience
